Lille Lungegårdsvannet is an oasis in Bergen. The lake is located in the center of Bergen, just a couple of minutes walk from Torgalmenningen. The lake is surrounded by a small park which is always packed with flowers in the summer months and benches to sit down and relax on. Here you will find many of the art galleries in Bergen, many of the different KODE buildings and Bergen Kunsthall. In a parallell street to the lake you will find Grieghallen, the main concert hall in Bergen. Here are also several restaurants and cafes at both sides of the lake and at Festplassen, which is the square closest to the city center. Opposite Festplassen, you will find the Public Library in Bergen, the railway station, the main bus terminal, Bergen Storsenter shopping mall, the huge parking garage Bygarasjen and several hotels like Zander K, Hotel Terminus and Scandic Ørnen. The highest (and ugliest) building surrounding the lake is the 13 stories high Bergen City Hall which is located next to Gulating Courthouse.
