Nygårdshøyden is Bergen’s university and museum area.
The University of Bergen occupies a lot of buildings in
the area hich is located on a small hill, stretching all the
way from the cruise- and containerport at Dokken to the
south eastern entrance of Nygårdsparken.
From the center of Bergen, you follow the steps up to
the red brich church Johanneskirken
Here you will find several museums, cafes, parks and the
Student centre in Bergen.
Next to the church is the Natural History Museum with
its beautiful museum garden and Bergen Maritime
Museum.
Here are also the University Library with its own cafe
and the Faculty of Law in Bergen with a great location.
Nygårdshøyden is also known for its small wooden
houses in the north-eastern part, next to the Faculty of
Law.
