Bergen is known for its seven mountains, you can access two of them by funicular or
cable car. We have a famous fish market with all kinds of fresh seafood. We have the
UNESCO World Heritage site Bryggen with its old wooden buildings, a decent Aquarium
and Troldhaugen, the home of world famous composer Edvard Grieg. You can visit
Klosteret and Nøstet, known for its old wooden buildings and narrow alleys. Further out
from Bryggen, visit Håkonshallen and the Rosenkranz Tower, both historic buildings
open for visitors
We have a wide range of museums, from the different KODE Museums along Lille
Lungegårdsvann, to the newly refurbished University Museum of Bergen. You can learn
about the old history of Bryggen at Bryggens Museum and the Hanseatic Museum.
At Fantoft, about 15 minutes outside bergen, you can visit Fantoft Stavechurch. If you
are interested in other churches, the historic Mariakirken behind Bryggen or
Johanneskirken in the center, is worth a visit.
