Dokken
Cruise Port
Bergen has two different cruise ports, depending on the
size of the ship. The larges ships has to dock at (funny
enough) Dokken, which is located below Nygårdshøyden
where the University area of Bergen is.
From this port, it is about a 10 minutes walk to the center.
When you leave the cruise terminal, you access the area
where the sightseeing buses are parked.
From here, the easiest way to reach the city center is to
cross the main street and follow one of the roads to the
left of the hill. You can either follow the small and narrow
roads through the old wooden building area or follow the
wider road towards the building with all the grafitti (one of
the places in Bergen where street art are allowed). Walk
pass this building and you will spot the Theatre in Bergen.
When you pass the theatre building, you are on the top of
Ole Bulls Plass and just have to walk down this wide street
towards Torgalmenningen and you are in the middle of
Bergen.
It is also possible to jump on the Hop On-Hop Off buses
which has a stop close by the terminal.
