Telegrafen
The building was earlier housing the
national telegraph and telephone
office, designed by architects Finn
Berner og Anton Kielland in 1916 after
a city fire. It took 11 years to finish and
opened in 1927. Later a huge and
famous pastry shop was established
here, a very popular place for
celebrations for the inhabitants of
Bergen.
It was thoroughly refurbished in the
period from 1988 to 2002 where the
ground floor was converted to a
shopping center. Parts of the building
is now listed.
Telegrafen is a small and charming
shopping center and office building
with high standards by Byparken and
next to Galleriet. Here you will find
everything you need to renew yourself
in 10 different shops, including a hair
dresser, exclusive fashion stores and
an atrium with a cafe in the center.
